Third COVID-19 infection IDed on WCPS campus. This time, students were there.

For the third time in less than a week, an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 has been traced to a Wayne County Public Schools campus.

This time, however, the district publicly acknowledged the exposure and notified the community and staff members, given the fact that the individual who tested positive was on a campus where students have returned under the state’s Plan B hybrid model.

The district said, in a news release, that the individual was on Wayne Early Middle College High School’s campus. WEMCHS is one of two schools currently operating under the Plan B hybrid model. Wayne School of Engineering is the other.

The other potential exposures occurred last week at Meadow Lane Elementary School and Carver Elementary.
