After a defensive battle in the first half, Southern Wayne pulled away from bitter rival Goldsboro High School to win 20-0 in Dudley.
But the Cougars (0-2) lost more than a football game Friday evening, as star senior Braxton Morton suffered a season-ending knee injury.
