Here’s how to honor your senior in our special Class of 2021 edition of Eastbound & Downtown

For the second year in a row, we have been overwhelmed and humbled by the enthusiasm Wayne County businesses, teachers, students and parents have shown for our “Eastbound & Downtown” yearbook project — a special edition of the New Old North’s sister print publication that will publish in June.

And, just like last year, we remain committed to providing this county with something special, a keepsake that reflects the quality of Wayne’s Class of 2021.

In response to your requests, we have come up with two ways for families to honor their seniors in the edition — a $50 tribute and a $100 tribute. The prices are based on the space necessary to produce and to publish these congratulatory notes.

You will see examples below of both options, as well as how to purchase one for your senior.

We know that right now, some families might be dealing with job loss or other strains on their budgets. This is still an uncertain time. We understand that.

And we certainly do not want anyone to feel left out. So, we will also offer a free opportunity for parents to post a message to their senior when our edition publishes in a special online message book this summer.

With that said, because of the enormous amount of work that will go into this edition, we will need to move quickly on getting ads ordered and produced.

Interviews with seniors from every school in the county, public and private, are currently under way and additional content is in production.

Therefore, the deadline for these individual tributes is Friday, May 28.

We can’t wait to see the messages of love and support. Last year, we were moved by the tributes from family members and teachers that appeared in the magazine.

Celebrating our future and honoring the young people of whom we are all so proud seem like great ways to mark this nation’s victory over the adversity it has faced for more than a year.

Thanks again for trusting us with this publication. We look forward to sharing it with you, both in print and online.

To get a feel for what your tribute will look like, click here to view our latest edition of “Eastbound & Downtown.” And keep in mind that our pages are 9.5 x 11 inches.

Then, send an email that contains the size you would like, the photos you want used and your message to your senior to kfine@newoldnorth.com

Our design team will take care of the rest.

Here is an example of the $50 tribute — which can include a message and two photos, and will cover 1/6 of a page — and the $100 tribute — which can include a message and three photos — and will run 1/4 of a page:
