REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ) —
EMS STATION 12
Pursuant to N.C. Stat. Sec. 143-128.1A, Wayne County is seeking proposals from qualified design-build teams to build a 60x80x14 building that will include two drive-through bays and a living area to house EMS Station 12. The intent of this RFQ is to select a design-build team by qualifications-based selection to provide design, estimating, construction and construction management services to accomplish the renovation goals of Wayne County.
Wayne County seeks to pursue the design-build project delivery method to minimize cost escalation risk, minimize change orders from existing conditions, and decrease the overall project schedule. These renovations will take place in occupied buildings and must be planned, scheduled, and executed to allow operations to continue in the spaces affected. Wayne County believes the collaboration provided by the design-build model will provide the best end-product for the citizens and occupants of our spaces.
The expected schedule for the projects is approximately 12 months to complete the package of work. The selected Design-Builder will be required to provide a performance and payment bond in accordance with provisions of Article 3 of Chapter 44A of the NC General Statutes.
