The Wayne County Board of Education has proposed to accept an offer of three thousand two hundred dollars ($3,200.00) to purchase approximately 0.46 acres at the address of 805 E. TAKE NOTICE that the Mount Olive Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on Monday, April 6, 2026 at 6:00 PM, in the municipal courtroom, 114 East James Street, Mount Olive Town Hall, Mount Olive, NC 28365, on the following matter:
- The Board of Commissioners will consider amending the Charter of the Town of Mount Olive to implement four-year staggered terms for the Mayor and Board of Commissioners. It is proposed that at the regular municipal election to be held in 2027, the candidate for Mayor with the highest number of votes shall be elected for a two year term. The three candidates for Commissioner who receive the highest number of votes shall be elected for four-year terms, while the two candidates for Commissioner who receive the next highest number of votes shall be elected for two-year terms. At the regular municipal election to be held in 2029, and every four years thereafter, the Mayor and two Commissioners shall be elected to serve four-year terms. At the regular municipal election to be held in 2031, and every four years thereafter, three Commissioners shall be elected to four-year terms.
Following the public hearing, the Board of Commissioners will consider passage of the ordinance at its regular meeting to be held on May 4, 2026.

SALE OF COUNTY PROPERTY
An offer of Five Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($5,250.00) has been submitted for the purchase of certain property owned by the County of Wayne, located at 769 Genoa Road, Dudley (PIN: 2597305256), more particularly described as follows:

Persons wishing to upset the offer that has been received shall submit a sealed bid with their offer and the required deposit to the office of the Wayne County Manager, 224 E.
