A former Charles B. Aycock English teacher was arrested today and charged by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office with three felony counts of taking indecent liberties with a student.
Keith Gerald Woodard III, 32, was suspended by Wayne County Public Schools in October 2019 and resigned his post in April “following an extensive school system investigation,” WCPS officials said in a news release.
Woodard, 32, is being held under a $6,000 secured bond.
It shouldn’t have taken a whole year for him to be arrested and charged! Wonder how many other discretions occurred during this past year!
He didn’t even teach in the past year so keep trippin
Well since he was suspended during the investigation- I’m guessing none. Not that I’m saying that relationships with students are right. But it does clearly say he was suspended during the investigation
You are correct – the allegations were with regard to a student. As a former public school administrator with 36 years of experience, I will agree that he was rightfully suspended from his public school job. However, for this offender to not be jailed gives rise to the possibility of additional offenses to occur in the community.
I see what you’re saying, but he was a high school teacher, not a kindergarten teacher. I’m not saying that makes it right IF he is guilty, but it does make it a very different situation than if he was a kindergarten teacher.
This happened in 2015. Why was this brought up in 2019?
