The brackets are set and several Wayne County teams will begin their respective quests for a state championship Monday, as the 2022 NCHSAA boys soccer playoffs begin.
Here is what we know:
Rosewood High School (1A) — The Eagles landed a No. 1 seed after posting an 18-2 record. They will host a No. 32 seed Columbia team that only won one game this season Monday evening.

Spring Creek High School (2A) — The Gators earned a No. 5 seed after going 15-4-2 and finishing in a tie for first place in the conference. They will host the No. 28 seed Graham, a team that went 6-7-4.
Goldsboro High School (2A) — The 7-9 Cougars earned the No. 32 seed and will travel to Franklin Academy Monday to play their bracket’s No. 1 seed, a squad that won 17 games this season.

Charles B. Aycock High School (3A) — The Golden Falcons earned a No. 9 seed after winning a conference title and posting an impressive 16-2-2 record. They host a .500 Southern Lee team seeded 24th in Pikeville Monday evening.

Southern Wayne High School (3A) — The Saints earned a No. 28 seed and will travel to No. 5-seeded Southern Nash for their first-round matchup. Southern Wayne went 10-8-4, but in recent weeks posted an upset win over Fike and played two strong games against Aycock.
