Eastern Wayne, GHS, Rosewood and Princeton make football playoffs

Four area football teams have made the 2021 NCHSAA Football Playoffs, according to preliminary rankings that were released earlier this afternoon.

Here’s what we know:

• Rosewood is a 5-seed and has a first-round bye.

• Princeton is a 1-seed and will host Bunn Friday evening.

• Eastern Wayne is a 16-seed and will host Kinston Friday evening. (The winner of that game would play the winner of the Princeton/Bunn game in the second round, setting up a potential rematch between the Warriors and Bulldogs.

• Goldsboro is a 28-seed and will travel to St. Pauls Friday evening.
