Two educators, an Army sergeant major, a certified medical assistant, a transport specialist and a current member of the Goldsboro City Council are among 10 local residents vying to become the next mayor of Goldsboro.
The applicants are scheduled to make their respective cases for appointment to the post at the council’s Aug. 2 meeting.
The seat, which became vacant after former Mayor Chuck Allen resigned to focus on his battle with brain cancer, is expected to be filled Aug. 16.
