Lewis named interim superintendent
The Wayne County Board of Education voted to seek additional applications in its search for a new superintendent during its special-called meeting Wednesday — and, as Dr. James Merrill prepares to leave the district, named his replacement.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. David Lewis will serve as WCPS’ interim leader until a permanent hire is made. Lewis’ current salary will be increased by $2,000 per month.
