When a thunderstorm resulted in Goldsboro High School’s Homecoming game being postponed until Saturday at 6 p.m., we, for the second week in a row, traveled to Pikeville to ensure we had some football coverage for you to enjoy this weekend.
And for the second week in a row, the Charles B. Aycock football team didn’t disappoint.
CBA head coach Steve Brooks fought back tears after his team knocked off defending ECC champion South Central 38-27 to improve to 5-1 on the season.
The Golden Falcons marching band, dance team and cheerleaders put on a show of their own.
And not a drop of rain fell.
Not bad for a backup plan.
We’ll see you tomorrow evening at GHS.
Until then, enjoy the following photographs from one of Aycock’s biggest wins in recent memory.
